Means, Paul Barringer

Paul Barringer Means (1845-1911) from Concord, NC, entered the University in 1862, joined the Dialectic Society, and graduated with third honors in 1868. He became a lawyer, served on the staffs of Govs. Zebulon B. Vance (1877-79) and Thomas J. Jarvis (1879-85), and was elected to the NC Senate (1885-89). Means was a University trustee from 1873 until his death. In 1894 he married Moselle Partee Foard.
